Yoga and Healing – how ‘healing’ brings us to ‘yoga’

In yoga there is a term that is referred to in Pantjali’s Yoga Sutras (the ancient teachings of yoga that date back to over 2,000 years old) called samskaras – which are the habitual patterns of our mind that make up our conditioning.
What I have been reflecting on within myself of late is just how many of these there are and how can I go about in my day-to-day life shifting some of these.
During the time I was having chemotherapy, I attended a local movie premiere of Sex In The City. The evening was a fundraiser for breast cancer. Given the nature of the movie, the cinema was naturally full of women with the odd token male. As I looked around, I sadly observed that one woman in each row of the cinema would be affected by breast cancer within her lifetime.
As a complementary health practitioner, yoga and meditation instructor Alexandra Plane is known for her gentle nature, love for people and deep integrity. Alexandra’s love and dedication is towards bringing deep care back into people’s life and the community.
